Summer

I have done absolutely nothing related to ham radio over the past couple months. For logistical reasons, the Red Cross volunteer opportunities didn’t pan out. (I’ll keep an eye out for upcoming, non-summer events. And frankly, the heat makes the fatigue worse so I’ll probably be more useful at other times of the year anyway.) My QDX kit is currently sitting across the room, still unassembled, mocking me. I have given zero thoughts to an antenna. I haven’t read forums or my radio Masto account in weeks. I’m in New York at the moment and have not even looked around for repeaters. I was in the Adirondacks, among summits, and there are many nearby parks, but I have not gotten on the air. I’m on a lake! It’s right outside my window! I could sit on the shore or a boat; I could do LLOTA easily…if only I could overcome inertia. Alas, I cannot, but feel trapped in the summer doldrums.
